Everybody's Doing a Video Logo
So why can't I? This was made for my brand. It was a convenient excuse to learn Element 3D in After Effects. Our point of view is a camera flying through the “E.P.” monogram while various clips from my videos play on the 3D walls.
Element 3D is a robust plugin for Adobe After Effects. It gives users surprisingly good 3D modeling features right inside the program. After Effects, (the Photoshop equivalent of film & video post-production) is great software but it has no native 3D capability. This makes sense when you consider that the complexity of 3D requires powerful software all its own. Element 3D isn’t nearly as complex as Maya, 3D Studio, or Blender, but it finally makes 3D text affordable since AE is so widespread. This is probably all that most AE users would want to complement their daily effects needs. We’re talking the 99% of film & video folk outside of big-budget animated movies.
Of course, you still need to contend with long render times and clunky plugin performance when working within AE, but if you know how piecemeal and patchworky much of video post can be, you’ll be content and even impressed. It’s a whole new tool for your Swiss-army compositing kit.
